Wilson I. Gonsalves, MD
Wilson I. Gonsalves is a graduate from Creighton University and has also obtained a degree in medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine. He obtained clinical fellowship in 2015 from Mayo Clinic Rochester. Dr. Gonsalves mainly treats these conditions: amyloidosis, leukemia, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance, multiple myeloma, and plasma cell disorders.
Dr. Gonsalves focuses his research on understanding the cellular metabolism of malignant plasma cells in diseases such as multiple myeloma by employing a variety of systems biology techniques in an integrated fashion. His research interests are plasma cell neoplasms (multiple myeloma, plasma cell leukemia), light-chain amyloidosis, other monoclonal gammopathy related disorders, tumor metabolism, etc.
Dr. Gonsalves is interested in improving the supportive care of patients with plasma cell disorders by incorporating clinical interventions to improve symptoms and quality of life. He also studies population-based outcomes in various plasma cell disorders to identify trends and disparities in survival and utilization of therapies.
