National Organization for Rare Disorders
National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) is a patient advocacy organization dedicated to individuals with rare diseases and the organizations that serve them. NORD, along with its more than 280 patient organization members, is committed to the identification, treatment, and cure of rare disorders through programs of education, advocacy, research, and patient services.
If you live with a rare disease, or love someone who does, NORD is here to help you. For more than 30 years, we have been providing services for patients and their families, rare disease patient organizations, medical professionals, and those seeking to develop new diagnostics and treatments. We are here to support every member of the rare disease community with programs and services focused on one ultimate goal: to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by rare diseases.
NORD also works closely with many government agencies, most notably the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). All NORD programs are focused on one ultimate goal — to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by rare diseases.
